Kathleen Smart, 34, of Grover City died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 1989, at a Stanford hospital.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. and continue during the following the Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero. Celebration of the Masses will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Williams Catholic Church in Atascadero. The Rev. Joseph R. Hercek will officiate. Burial will follow a the Atascadero District Cemetery.

Mrs. Smart was born July 12, 1955, in Tracy.

She was a homemaker and a student at Cuesta College pursuing a teaching degree.

Mrs. Smart was a member o the Grover Heights Elementary School P.T.A.; a team mother for Beach Cities Little League; and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Rand Smart of Grover City; two sons, Matthew and Eric Smart of Grover City; a daughter, Amanda Smart of Grover City; her parents, Mary and Bob Hoyt of Atascadero; a brother, Edward Hoyt of Butler, Pa.; and two sister, Kristie Davidson and Karen Gleason, both of Atascadero.

Former Tracy resident Kathleen Hoyt Smart, 34, of Grover City, died Wednesday in Stanford University Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Smart was raised in Tracy and graduated from St. Bernard's School and from Tracy High in 1973.

She left Tracy in 1975 [1974] after marrying Randy C. Smart.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the chapel of the Roses in Atascadero and at 11 a.m. at St. William's Catholic Church in Atascadero.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Smart of [Tracy and] Grover City; two sons, Matthew Smart and Eric Smart, both of Grover City; a daughter, Amanda Smart of Grover City; her parents, Bob and Mary Hoyt of Atascadero; two sisters, Kristie Davidian and Karolyn Gleason, both of Atascadero; and a brother, Edward Hoyt of Butler, Pa.



Kathy is Buried in the Atascadero Cemetery. She would like the view--from the oaks overlooking the Salinas River where horses graze the meadows by day.

Her mother and father joined her in 2006 and 2008 (respectively) and lay beside her there. Far from forgotton...near our thoughts.
